【現在3名】カジュアル英会話で忘れたかけた英語を復活【平日版】no.3

毎回ながら写真を撮り忘れて・・・。
こちらの会は毎回パワーアップしてきて、初級かと思いきや中級〜上級近くになりつつあるのでまた別の初級ー中級クラスを作るかもしれません。
いや、ちょっと参加者の成長率が早すぎて大変です！😂

下の内容を見ていただいても分かる通り、こちらの内容を全て９０分以内に話したので参加して頂いた方も、私も結構頭がパンパンでした。
もちろんカジュアルでチャレンジングで、楽しく行えたと思いますが、内容が濃いので英語漬け！って感じです。恐らく９０分でここまで濃くて、実践的なのは巷の英会話学校のレッスンでも無いでしょう。
これくらいやると「あとは帰るだけで、次に予定入れてなくて良かった」と思いました・・😅
今日の構成
【第１部】簡単なテーマを話す

[What is your ideal trip? Where? How]

1.California. Lie in the beach in California, on the sand, watching beautiful girls in Bikinis

2.Europe. Visit famous Museums

3.Eat hamburgers at McDonalds in US

【第二部】ディベート
巷に見られる「相手を打ち負かす」ディベートではなく、あくまでも自分の主張を言う、または色々正当化する形です。楽しくやります。
テーマは事前に●●VS ❌❌のように渡しておきますが、〇〇になるか、❌❌になるかは直前まで知らせません。その場で１分くらいで考えて、サァ主張開始。「なるほど」という答えから「それは無理があるのでは・・」という珍解答まで出てきます（笑）
第３ラウンドあたりまではわたしが事前に渡したテーマですが、第４、第5はその場で参加者の方にテーマを考えてもらいました。即興の即興ですね。
ちなみに第２ラウンド辺りから変化球を投げています。分かる方はいますでしょうか？
また、ディベートは遊びであっても遺恨が残っては嫌なので、あくまでもディベートする人は「異世界の自分」という立場でやってもらっています。
それなので今回はJohnとMichaelがそれぞれの主張をする体で。

<The Debate>
We assigned each of them randomly on themes/things they have to defend.

To avoid hard feelings, we decided to assign them names of variants in another demention.
J became John, M san became Michael

-Round1-
CATS vs DOGS

<DOGS- John>
A-Dogs are more friendly than cats
B-You can enjoy playing with them
C-For the elderly, dogs become companions and can avoid feeling lonely

CATS-Michael
D-Cats are silent
E-Cats moves slower than dogs thus avoiding unnecessary sound
F-no sudden movements from cats

A*-Dogs are more friendly than cats
→ Counter attack by Cats
-When they are not trained, dogs bark even to their owners

→ Counter attack by Dogs
-Dogs become friendly after a few years
-Good relationship means no barking

C*-For the elderly, dogs become companions and can avoid feeling lonely
→ Counter attack by Cats

-Dogs may help the elderly from being lonely, but dogs’ bark is more harmful especially for the neighbors

Result: Since Round 1 was just the beginning, we didn’t see much of an agressive behavior either from Michael nor John

SOBA vs UDON

<Soba= John>
A-Soba has a good aroma when you eat it
B-Thinner than Udon means good for the elderly.
C-Doesn’t get stuck (or clogeed) in the throat
D-Lower calories
E-Udon has much higher calories. Soba is better for diet

<Udon=Michael>
F-Udon is easy to make, with only flour. Soba needs buckweat and heavy process
G-Udon is much chewy than soba
H-Udon is cheaper than soba
I-All ages know the tast of udon.

H*-Udon is cheaper than soba

Udon looks cheap, which means many expensive Japanese restaurants may not add Udon on their menu

Mountains vs Ocean

1-You can enjoy all season, while ocean is only summer
2-You can go camping in the mountains
3-There are various ways to enjoy the mountains
4-you can enjoy nature
5-You can go canue

6-Ocean is dangerous. You can drown
7-You can get stung by jelly-fish in ocean
8-Women will have to worry about their skin to be suntanned because of the heavy sunlight in ocean

3-You can go anywhere without any tracks
4-Night busses are cheaper to travel
5-Beautiful bus guides on tour busses
6-Since bus seats are small, you can communicate with local people

< Michael TRAIN>
7-punctual
8-Uses low energy compared to busses
9-Ecological
I0 -Can carry more people att he same time
11-Faster speed
12-Busses don’t go to places when there are few passengers (Egypt) but trains always go
13-Some train serves lunch
14-Some trains have diner cars
15-Busses need at least 2 breaks for night busses

4*-Night busses are cheaper to travel

-Night busses are not comfortable. You may lose sleep

-Busses can climb slopes. Trains have a limit on the angle on how much they can climb

よく９０分で（実質８０分）５ラウンドもやったな、と思いました。
１ラウンド16分。１人１テーマで持ち時間８分。
８分でよくもここまで色々と考えついたな・・と正直皆さんの凄さに驚きました。いや、私も考えながらやったので頭がパンパンです。

もう少し人数が増えれば交代でやるので答えを考えたり、反論したりする余裕が出るかもしれませんね。
