久々の朝英会話

短期間での募集でしたが、2名の方が参加されました。
簡単な自己紹介の後、参加者の1人の方から提案のあった夏バテに効く野菜及び最近ハマっている事について話をしました

事前にテーマについては聞いていたので、アメリカの雑誌から、アメリカの夏野菜である小倉についての記事を引っ張ってきました。
また、開催場所はマクドナルドということで、アメリカで流行ってるマイストロー(プラスチック製)の記事も引っ張ってきました。
そこからは話題が発生して様々なことについて話しました。

Shaved ice
Shaved ice: Japanese shaved ice are not so common in the US. A lot of times you can find them in names like snowcones, slushies.

Slushies are mostly find in 711 USA
Although having fruit tastes, they are made with artificial flavor

Summer vegetables
This so-called summer vegetables such as tomatoes cucumbers and eggplants are considered to lower your body temperature

Native Americans
In the past Native Americans were called Indians but are no longer used
It is the same case with actors and actresses

Schnitzels
Mostly famous in countries like Austria, This deep fried breaded pork Resembles the Japanese tonkatsu but much thinner

What would be the norm in the future?
Some people eat tonkatsu with soy sauce and lemon to freshen the oil.
Perhaps not so popular in Japan right now it may be popular in 100 years

Different places different combinations
In Chinese restaurants in Austria, they serve the spring rolls with sauerkraut cabbage ( with no meat inside), and the sauce is usually a ketchup

Talking about sauce, the Japanese ウースターソースcomes from Worcester sauce,
Which has its origin from Worcester in Britain

The Japanese ハンバーグCan be found in some parts of US as the Salisbury steak

Salisbury steak plus buns plus lettuce plus cheese will make it hamburger

The Japanese style hamburger is with daikon radish (grated) and soy sauce
